Quickstart
From zero to a public Instagram profile in five steps. You can also try calls live in the playground after you have a key.
1. Create an account
Sign up at trysocify.com/register. Free plans start with 100 credits every month : no card required.
2. Create an API key
Open Dashboard → API keys, create a key, and copy the secret immediately. Socify shows it once; if you lose it, revoke and create another.
3. Store the key
Put the secret in an environment variable. Never commit it to git or ship it in client-side code.
export SOCIFY_KEY='sk_live_...'4. Make your first request
Fetch a public Instagram profile. Every lookup is GET /api/v1/:platform/:resource with Bearer auth.
cURL
curl -s 'https://trysocify.com/api/v1/instagram/user?username=natgeo' \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $SOCIFY_KEY"
Node
const res = await fetch( 'https://trysocify.com/api/v1/instagram/user?username=natgeo', { headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.SOCIFY_KEY}` } }, ); const data = await res.json(); console.log(data);
Python
import os import requests r = requests.get( 'https://trysocify.com/api/v1/instagram/user?username=natgeo', headers={'Authorization': f"Bearer {os.environ['SOCIFY_KEY']}"}, ) print(r.json())
5. Read the response
A successful call returns ok: true, the platform payload under data, and billing info in meta. Full field reference: Response format. Endpoint details: Profile Info.
{ "ok": true, "platform": "instagram", "resource": "user", "params": { "username": "natgeo" }, "data": { "username": "natgeo", "full_name": "National Geographic", "is_verified": true }, "meta": { "credits_charged": 1, "latency_ms": 420, "platform": "instagram", "resource": "user", "path": "/v1/instagram/user" } }
