How to build a YouTube Channel Auditor

Media agencies and brand safety teams still keep a quiet “channel sheet” before a YouTube sponsorship: resolve the username, read about metadata, and pin the public subscriber string. This is that sheet as two Socify calls under /youtube/user.

Socify endpoints used

This screen is a thin layer over public Socify lookups: same paths you call with your own key.

~4 credits per full run.

Logic behind the screen

Passing username on /youtube/user resolves the UC… browse id internally, then /youtube/subscribers reads the public count string. Sponsorship ops use this pair to confirm the channel identity matches the brief before negotiating CPM.

  1. Resolve by username

GET /api/v1/youtube/user?username=… runs name-to-id then detailed-info in one client call. You get about text, canonical URL, and subscriber text when present.

  2. Pin the subscriber string

GET /api/v1/youtube/subscribers?browse_id=… returns the public count label media buyers put on the deal sheet (e.g. 200M).

  3. Ship the audit object

Combine username, browse id, about snippet, and subscriber label into one JSON screen: the same shape internal tools stash in a CRM field before legal reviews the creator agreement.
