Terms of Service
Last updated: October 14, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Socify, including the website at trysocify.com, the dashboard, and the Socify API (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, clicking continue, or calling the API, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.
2. The Service
Socify provides programmatic access to publicly available social media data through a REST API. Features, platforms, endpoints, credit costs, and plan limits may change as we improve the product. We may add, modify, or discontinue endpoints with reasonable notice when practical.
Documentation at /docs describes current behavior; in case of conflict between marketing copy and the live API, the live API and these Terms control.
3. Accounts and API keys
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account and API keys. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Do not share keys publicly (for example in client-side code or public repositories). You may create and revoke keys in the dashboard. We may suspend keys or accounts that appear compromised or abusive.
4. Credits, plans, and billing
Usage is metered in credits. Successful lookups deduct credits as documented per endpoint. Unused monthly credits do not roll over unless we explicitly state otherwise for a promotion.
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis via Stripe (or another payment processor we designate). Prices are shown on /pricing and may change for future billing periods with notice. Taxes may apply based on your location.
You can change or cancel plans through the billing portal. Unless required by law or stated at checkout, fees already paid are non-refundable. Free-plan credits renew monthly while your account remains in good standing.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes, including harassment, fraud, stalking, or unauthorized access to private data.
- Attempt to bypass credit metering, authentication, or security controls.
- Resell raw API access as a competing undifferentiated proxy without meaningful value-add, or overload the Service in a way that degrades it for others.
- Scrape, attack, or reverse engineer our infrastructure beyond what is needed for ordinary interoperable use of the documented API.
- Misrepresent affiliation with Socify or use our marks without permission.
You are solely responsible for complying with applicable laws and with the terms of third-party platforms whose public data you request through Socify. We do not grant you rights in that third-party content beyond the technical delivery of responses.
6. Availability and uptime
We target a 99.97% monthly uptime SLA for the Socify API service (authentication, routing, and response delivery). Live health and historical uptime are published on /status. This target excludes scheduled maintenance announced in advance, force majeure, and outages or blocks caused by third-party social platforms.
7. Third-party platforms
Social platforms change layouts, availability, and policies without notice. We do not control upstream services and do not guarantee that any particular handle, post, or field will remain available. Failed or incomplete lookups may not be charged when we cannot complete the request; successful responses consume credits as documented.
8. Intellectual property
Socify, including the website, branding, software, and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service according to these Terms. You retain rights in your own applications and in data you lawfully obtain and store, subject to third-party rights.
9. Confidentiality and feedback
Non-public API behavior, keys, and account details should be kept confidential. If you send feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DATA RETURNED IS COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR FIT FOR A SPECIFIC DECISION.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SOCIFY AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US $100) IF YOU HAVE ONLY USED THE FREE PLAN.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Socify against claims, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your applications, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of third-party rights or platform terms.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account where the product allows. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Provisions that by nature should survive (including payment obligations accrued, IP, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when reasonable (for example by email or dashboard banner).
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the Socify operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country apply. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive venue, subject to those mandatory rights.
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms: legal@trysocify.com. Product and billing help: use the dashboard or email associated with your account.
