Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Socify (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use trysocify.com, the dashboard, and the Socify API (the “Service”). By using the Service you acknowledge this policy. For how you may use the product, see our Terms of Service.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in (for example with Google OAuth), we receive identifiers such as your name, email address, and provider account ID. We store profile fields needed to operate your account, plan, and billing status.

Billing information

Paid plans are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. We retain Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan history, and invoice metadata needed for support and accounting.

API and usage data

When you call the API we log operational details such as API key identifiers (not the raw secret after creation), endpoints called, timestamps, status codes, credit charges, latency, and coarse request metadata required to meter usage, prevent abuse, and debug incidents. Request parameters (for example handles or URLs you look up) may appear in logs for a limited retention period.

Website and device data

Our site and apps may collect standard technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and referrers. Session cookies or similar technologies keep you signed in and protect against CSRF-style abuse.

Communications

If you email us or open a support thread, we keep the contents and metadata needed to respond and improve the Service.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, operate, and secure the Service
  • Authenticate users and authorize API keys
  • Meter credits, enforce plan limits, and process payments
  • Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Improve reliability, documentation, and product features
  • Send transactional messages (billing, security, product notices)
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell the social payloads you request through the API as a data product.

4. Social data you request

The API returns publicly available social media data from third-party platforms in response to your authenticated requests. That content is governed by the platforms and by applicable law. We process it to fulfill your request; you decide what you store or display downstream. We are not responsible for third-party content accuracy or for your compliance when you reuse it.

5. Sharing

We may share information with:

  • Service providers such as hosting (for example Railway/Vercel), databases, payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, and error monitoring: only as needed to run Socify.
  • Professional advisors under confidentiality obligations when required.
  • Authorities when we believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or the Service.
  • Business transfers if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice when required.

6. Retention

We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and dispute purposes. Operational API logs are retained for a limited period appropriate for security and debugging, then deleted or aggregated. You may request account deletion; some records may remain where we must retain them by law.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed API secrets at rest where applicable, and access controls on production systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; protect your keys and notify us of suspected compromise.

8. International transfers

We may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws than your home country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can update some profile details in the dashboard, revoke API keys, and manage billing through the Stripe portal.

To exercise privacy rights, email privacy@trysocify.com from the address on your account. We may verify your identity before responding. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

11. Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar storage for authentication and security. We may use lightweight analytics to understand aggregate traffic. You can control cookies through your browser; disabling essential cookies may break sign-in.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be communicated in a reasonable manner when practical. Continued use of the Service after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
